What HotelRefund is

HotelRefund (hotelrefund.net) is a free hotel price tracker. You pick a city, a hotel and your dates — we check the Agoda rate for that exact stay several times a day, keep the full price history on a public page, and can optionally email you when the price changes. No account is needed and there is nothing to pay.

The service exists for one specific moment in travel: after you book. If you hold a refundable reservation and the price drops before the free-cancellation deadline, you can rebook the same room for less. HotelRefund watches the price so you don't have to keep refreshing tabs.

How the data works

Prices come from Agoda's public rates for the exact hotel, dates and guest count you selected.
Every check is recorded and timestamped; the history anyone sees is the history we actually observed. We never fabricate, backfill or smooth prices.
Prices are shown in your own currency, converted with daily exchange rates — the original currency is always shown too.
"Today's deals" compares Agoda's current rate against its own listed (crossed-out) rate, refreshed daily by city.
City and country names in Korean, Japanese and Chinese come from GeoNames, used under CC BY 4.0.

What HotelRefund does not do

We don't take bookings, handle payments, or connect to your email or booking accounts. Booking always happens on the travel site itself. We also don't sell your data — the Contact · privacy policy covers the details.

Who runs it

HotelRefund is built and run by an independent developer, launched in 2026. It is not owned by any hotel, booking site or travel agency, which is what lets the price data stay neutral: we simply record what the rate was, whether it went up or down.

How we make money

If you book through one of our links, the booking site may pay us a small commission. The price you pay is unchanged either way. That commission is the only revenue — tracking is free and will stay free.
